Family Home Evening

We had a super fun FHE on Monday. We've kind of had a problem with speaking kindly to each other. So I'm hoping this little lesson will help solve the problem. We each had a jar and the blue bowl has candy kisses in it, and the red box has rocks in it. I told the kids that when they say something nice to each other then it's like putting a candy in their jar. But if we say something mean, then it's like putting a rock in their jar. We talked about the golden rule and how we should try to fill each other's jar with candy.

(I don't know why my pic turned out upside down...) Then as a treat we had cream cheese bagels with a tongue sticking out to remind us to use kind words.

Kids loved it! We've been using it all week to remind them of when they are putting rocks or candy in each other's (and mom and dad's!) jar. :)
