August 2011

So I had to start school in Akron before Trevor was done with his externship in Tacoma, WA. So I headed back to Cleveland and left Jaden, KynnLee, and Phoebe with my parents. Trevor picked them up on his way back from Washington. What a trooper he is!! He drove all the way from Washington to Ohio by himself! And he had two kids and a dog with him from Idaho to Ohio! Way to go Trev!! All so I can go to school. :)

Here's what went down in my first few days of school.

Sore feet!! That's what happens when you do an intense pointe class after you haven't done it for 10 years. :( I found out the hard way how to properly fit for pointe shoes. Those babies in the pic were NOT right for my feet, and I danced in them for three weeks before I figured out that my feet are not painful for lack of strength, but for a wrong fitting shoe. I have the baby bunions on my feet to prove it. I was a whole new person when I found the right fitting shoe.

I made sure to have an extra special dinner ready for my fam when they finally got home.

It was very strange being home by myself for a week. But I think I needed it to ease myself into my intense semester being in an upper level ballet class every day of the week. This momma was tired! But I loved every painful, tiring, and inspiring minute of it!

Cassia County Fair and Rodeo 2011

Kids loved the fair and rodeo! Here's how it all went down...

Jaden had a liking to the bow and arrow booth.

Here's some of the gang that went to the rodeo with us! Aunt Joan and Jessica and Andrew.

We let the little boys do the cow chase, it was hilarious!  A big thank you to the Rodeo announcer for telling the kids to pick up a handful of dirt and put it in their pocket!

I believe Jaden is the blurry kid on the far left.

J-man coming through the gate all worn out!

Jaden and Kaleb's drink wagon

We let the boys sell drinks at the parade, they were to die for!

They made their own signs...

And we brought grandpa Bob's wagon and they filled it with ice and drinks.  Bright light!! Bright light!!

My favorite part was their tip cup, and it was Jaden's idea, not mine!! Ha ha ha!!  Little salesmen working it!!

When I was following them I saw people just throwing change in their tip cup!! Ha ha!

They did pretty darn good! They made $53!! They split it and used it at the fair.

We can't miss pics of the girls doing their thing during the parade.

Hanging out in Idaho

The kids have had a rough couple of days. I think it's a combination of not having their own beds for so long and having daddy gone for 4 out of the last 5 months. We miss daddy!!

I've been doing usual fun things with them. Yesterday I took them to Storybook Park, got them a snow cone, etc. Then I made the mistake of taking KynnLee to the store at about 5:30. BIG MISTAKE. The girl had a meltdown because I wouldn't let her rip open (and therefore purchase) a box with fancy ballerina shoes inside. I swear people thought I was abusing my child. The whole friggin' store was silent listening to her screams (she has a healthy set of lungs and vocal cords). You should have seen the looks I got from people. I didn't even finish my list, I grabbed the milk and got the heck out of dodge!
The little stinker-pot did the same thing last week at Target with all her cousins. And that time I WAS going to buy her a toy. She was being impossible to please (like literally eanted me to work magic) and eventually had a major melt down.

I'm officially NEVER taking her to a store again.

So I decided today had to be all about the kids; basically just do whatever they wanted to. They woke up and wanted to pick apples off the tree next door.

and they loved it!!

Jaden is so into gardening right now. He loves to go to grandpa Bob's and pick things out of the garden (won't eat them though!). He's so interested in how to plant them and water them. The first thing he noticed when he ate one of these apples is that they have white seeds and most apples have brown seeds. He ate an apple at Micalla's and planted the seeds in her yard (heads up Micalla!). Silly little boy.

Holy apples!! I think that one tree has enough apples to feed the city of Heyburn! :)

After we got ready we went and visited Beeda at work so she could show off her cute grandkids :). They always get free balloons and love it.

We got a footlong sub at subway, grabbed a couple toys out of the boathouse and headed to the pool. We were welcomed by signs saying "free swim day!". Score!! I didn't get any pics because I was in the pool with them. But I wish I could have gotten one of Jaden on the RonJohn Surf Shop board, splashing and kicking his feet behind him, with a big one-toothed grin on his face! It was priceless!! It took Kynn about 20min to loosen her death grip on me, but she loosened up and had fun too.

I'm afraid I have a fishing guru on my hands. Pa got Jaden some minnow bait to go fishing out to Rock Island tomorrow and it came with a DVD on how to use them. Of course Jaden popped it in and watched it right away. he sat and watched that better than Saturday morning cartoons!

Then they got to help Beeda and Pa build a fence at their duplex... and they loved it.

Then they got to spend some time at G&G Haynes. They picked cucumbers and peppers out of the garden. Then grandpa was brave (or maybe insane) and took them both to the store to grab a couple things for dinner. Of course she only acts like a naughty girl for her mom.

After we got back Jaden asks Pa, "do you think we should watch that DVD again in case we missed something?" and he almost fell asleep watching it! Grandpa has a pretty good lil fishing partner.

Today was much more successful than yesterday. Let's hope tomorrow is as well!!

Boating

During our summer trip to Idaho the kids had lots of time on the river boating.

I thought it was way cute to see grandpa's little side kick helping him hook up the boat.

Just hanging at the river

Jaden and Brenna on the tube.  And Jaden very proud of the night crawlers he caught with grandpa.

Hailey the Horse

The kids love Hailey the horse down at uncle George's house! Whenever they were bored they would ask to go feed Hailey green apples from the apple tree.
This was the first time we went to see Hailey. We brought Phoebe to meet her and well, you can see what Phoebe thought of that...

This particular time we came to see her after church. We couldn't find her so we walked around the other side of the pasture and she talked to us there. :)

As we were walking back to the house Hailey started following us!
