An onion a day...

keeps the doctor away??? Might be true for this little girl, we did manage to go all winter without a doctor visit. :)

So I was making a mexican dish (of course) a while ago and KynnLee climbed on the counter (as she always does) and grabbed the HUGE onion and took off to the living room.

So I followed her and caught her doing this...

SHE LIKED IT! Hmmm, does this remind you of anyone? Grandma and Grandpa Hellewell maybe? They used to eat raw onions like apples!

KynnLee also shares another trait with Grandma Myrtle... her gorgeous brown eyes. There are 12 grandkids in my family and KynnLee is the only one with brown eyes, crazy! Maybe we should have named her KynnLee Myrtle... :)

Funny how my skinny little boy won't touch veggies but loves anything chocolate, and my chubby little girl loves all kinds of veggies. She will beg for peppers too!

Play Dough FHE

Once in a great while I have a creative itch and come up with something fun. I've had this recipe for Play Dough cookies for quite a while and never tried them.

So a few weeks ago we were in need of a fun Family Home evening. We played Play Dough Pictionary and had Play Dough cookies for a treat.

We had gospel related word strips and picked them out of a hat and had to create them with Play Dough. Here's one of my fan-fabulous play dough creations for Word of Wisdom...

Ha ha, I didn't get any other pics from Pictionary, but we had fun!

Here's what our Play Dough cookies started out as. I'm not gunna lie, I had to sneak a few bites of the colorful stuff, it was the tastiest Play Dough ever!

Yeah, I wasn't the only one sneaking bites...

I pretty much let them go to town and make their own cookies. We ALL had fun making colorful tasty treats!!

The funny thing was that they looked almost the same before the oven...

... as they did after... YUM-O!

I always manage to snap a pic at a "weird face moment". But I promise, they really did like the cookies!

Memorial Day and Kindergarten Celebration!

Jaden-boy was in his first parade this year. His t-ball team was in the Memorial Day Parade for Brooklyn Heights. The parade just started down the street from our house and ended at the town hall where they had a flag raising ceremony and breakfast.

I gotta admit, the parade was pretty hysterical! It's a small town, so we expected a small parade (one thing we love about Brooklyn Hts). So they had the high school band and all that (sorry, but it wasn't impressive), but the rest of the parade was just people walking down the street! I expected them to at least throw the little T-ball team in a pickup truck or something. But the really hysterical part was that everyone that wasn't "in" the parade (parents, etc.) kinda had their own little parade going along the sidewalk! It was funny, and cute.

Here's a couple pics of Jaden at Field Day at school. I couldn't help but to stop by and sneak a few pics. They even let KynnLee join in on the fun.
Corn Hole is pretty popular out here, Trevor has even come to like it.

Jaden has been a busy little boy. We were able to attend his Kindergarten celebration, SO CUTE! They had a little presentation for us... (yes, KynnLee had to join in)

Then they got to play outside on the playground for a bit while they got the refreshments ready. I love how Jaden always holds KynnLee's hand, he's SUCH a good brother!

So now we have a 1st grader on our hands! How crazy is that?
Here's the teacher present Jaden helped me make for his teacher. Mrs. Motrunecs was a wonderful kindergarten teacher, we will miss her over the summer!

Jaden didn't waste any time getting summer under-way, he already had his first ever sleepover!! They were TOO cute! He had his friend Evan over and we rented movies (Goosebumps), had snacks, and let them sleep on the air-mattress. Evan brought over his sleeping bag which just happened to be the same one Jaden has, too funny!

We need to have Evan over more often! Those two little boys are two peas in a pod, they were SOOO good! I didn't even hear from them until they got hungry.
It's gunna be a good summer!

Out of the mouth of Jaden-boy

Favorite quote of the day, "Mom, you are tooooo patient because you always take forever".

I guess we need to re-explain the meaning of being patient.
